One of Timorous Beasties’ most iconic designs, Glasgow Toile is a wry and sinister tribute to our home city. Inspiration came from traditional toile de Jouy wall coverings and textiles, which we adapted to include scenes of modern urban life. Characters including vagrants, vagabonds and misbehaving youths are portrayed alongside famous Glasgow landmarks in this playful and provocative take on a familiar repeat pattern.
