The Wellcome Trust was founded in 1936 by Sir Henry Wellcome, pharmacist, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Since then, the trust has been improving healthcare the world over through research, collaboration and creative thinking. Wellcome Trust Conference Centre is set in over 100 acres of parkland on the banks of the River Cam, the Wellcome Trust Conference Centre comprises a purpose-built conference centre and a Grade II listed country house, Hinxton Hall. Designed by architects Abell Nepp, the new Conference Centre boasts expansive spaces all housed within an historic garden.
The central auditorium is encased with the designs of four phylogenetic patterns – Tree of Life, Primate, Insect and Cell – designed by Timorous Beasties to highlight the amazing and life-changing work that the Wellcome Trust undertakes.
